During his time at BWR, Allen worked on the Galoob Toys corporate account, Home Improvement and Unsolved Mysteries entertainment accounts. Returning to Wichita, he went to work for advertising agency Armstrong Shank as an account executive. His primary account was Property Management, a group of franchise companies including Pizza Hut, Rent-A-Center and other concepts.
Allen was recruited by Thorn Americas to lead brand marketing and rebranding for the retail chain REMCO. He was promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising for ZOOM Rent-To-Own, a start-up chain in Virginia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. This allowed for targeting like customers within a defined trade area.
The success experienced in database marketing lead Allen to found Paradigm with three partners. Paradigm’s mission was assisting retail companies with direct marketing outcomes through optimization of their own data. When a pipeline company contacted Paradigm to identify residential and business addresses near its system, the company restructured to focus on pipeline industry needs.
